Day 3 - 2nd stage
Barcus – Lourdes 122km with 2600 meters of climbing…
On the first stage, you will finally be able to sense how we have approached the huge mountains which are alluring, and the day starts with excitement before we head towards the iconic climbs we know from the Tour de France.
On today's stage we will pass the following mountains:
⛰️ Col de Marie-Blanque 9.2 km - 7.6%
⛰️ Col d'Aubisque 16.8 km - 7.1%
As some may remember, it was on the Col de Marie-Blanque that Jonas Vingegaard in 2023 made the first move against Pogacar in the battle for the Tour victory. It's a really steep climb and the day doesn't end here. Before we reach the final city of the day, Lourdes, there are several meters of altitude on the program and for those in group 1 who can't get enough, have the opportunity to try another iconic Jonas Vingegaard climb - namely Hautacam, where in 2022 he cemented his overall victory.
Only for group 1
⛰️ Hautacam 16.3km average gradient of 7.4%, (optional)
The route is a beautiful one of its kind and when it goes up, it also goes down and the most fantastic views await at the top and the descents which you must remember to enjoy!
