Day 7 - 5th stage
Saint Girons – Andorra 144km med 3600 meters of climbing…
The longest day of the trip and the day with the most elevation gain.
We leave France and ride along the only road into Andorra, which is nothing less than the highest paved road in the Pyrenees - Port d'Envalira, which is 35km and ends at an altitude of 2400 meters.
Before we hit this climb, we first have to pass a few climbs in France:
Today's Climbs
⛰️ Col de la Crouzette 16.6 km - 4.9%
⛰️ Col de Port 6.15km - 4.8%
🏔️ Port d'Envalira 35.2km - 4.8%
Last climb for group 1 only
⛰️ Coll d'Ordino 8.9 km - 5.6% (optional)
When we arrive in Andorra, there are no more flat stretches and here it only goes up and down. Andorra is known for, among other things, being a shopping mecca for the French and Spanish as it is duty free. Andorra is perhaps better known among many cycling fans for housing many of the professional riders and for hosting several stages in e.g. of the Vuelta a España and Tour de France.
