Featuring ocean views and beach access

The 4-star hotel offers sea views from every room—a rare perk and one of the reasons it’s considered the most bike-friendly hotel in the Altea/Calpe area. During the winter months, you’ll often find professional cycling teams staying here for there vinter training camps.

Since its complete renovation in 2018, the hotel has become a state-of-the-art facility with fantastic amenities, including a fitness center, spa, beauty clinic, and a pool located just 10 meters from the beach.

One standout feature is the exclusive Bike Zone, designed specifically for cyclists. It can accommodate over 200 bicycles and includes a separate bicycle cellar, group rooms, a washing area, and complimentary access to washing machines, dryers, and detergent. There’s also a workshop with tools and other essentials for bike maintenance.

What is required to join

This camp is best suited for participants with a solid foundation in cycling and the ability to ride for 3–5 hours or more. The age range is 18 to 65, so don’t let age hold you back! What matters most is your commitment to proper preparation before arriving, ensuring that everyone can fully enjoy the experience.

Group 1: +4 watts/kg FTP. Total distance: about 700 km with elevation gains of 12,000 m

Group 2: 3,5 - 4 watts/kg FTP. Total distance: about 600 km with elevation gains of 10,000 m

Group 3: +3 watts/kg FTP. Total distance: about 500 km with elevation gains of 8,000 m

In Altea it is difficult to find any flat roads. Either i goes up or down so we need to use the term w/kg tog give you an idea if this camp is something for you.

To find your FTP w/kg, ride as hard as you can for 20 minutes on a bike with a power meter or a spinning bike. If you can drive 260w for 20 min and weigh 75 kg, the same FTP w/kg = 3.5 w/kg

If you’re looking for a cycling camp that’s well above the usual standard, then Bike Camp Spain is the place. I’ve just finished another week with them, and I have to say: it was demanding, it was tough… and it was absolutely fantastic.

The weather delivered from day one, and the routes were, as always, meticulously planned down to the smallest detail. You can really tell that the guides know exactly what they’re doing — professional, calm, and with an impressive ability to get a group of riders to function as one unit, regardless of level.

The quality of both riders and routes hit exactly the level you expect from a camp of this class. There are no compromises, neither in the challenges nor in the overall experience. It’s hard in exactly the right way — the kind of hard where you’re still smiling even when your heart rate is deep in the red. But what surprises me every single time is the sense of community. It’s incredible how close you can become to other people when you share a passion for cycling, sweat your way up the same climbs, and laugh your way down the same descents.

It feels like, in just one week, you gain an extra little cycling family membership as part of the package. All in all: a top week that delivers on every level.

Bike Camp Spain isn’t just a cycling camp — it’s an experience that stays with you and makes you want to come back again and again. Five stars from me. And if I had an extra one, they’d get that too.
