This service is only available from Denmark Have your bike transported safely to Spain with PO AutoFor 200 euros (approx. 1500 DKK) round trip you can have your bike and a large suitcase transported by car to Altea. The car leaves from Ballerup on Thursday morning and picks up along the highway on Funen and down through southern Jutland. To get the most out of the camp, we recommend that you have experience riding in a group, are comfortable riding on a wheel and are used to longer days in the saddle, typically 4–5 hours.What level of fitness do I need?To join this camp, you must have a minimum FTP of:👉 3 W/kgThis is a minimum requirement to ensure you can complete the week’s routes and enjoy the experience alongside the rest of the group.If you’re unsure whether you meet the requirement, please get in touch. We’ll be happy to help you assess your level.Riding levels & groupsWe ride in two ability groups, provided there are at least 10 participants.Group 1Pace: approx. 24–28 km/h in the mountainsLevel: 4+ W/kg FTPApprox. 650 km with 10,000 metres of climbingGroup 2Pace: approx. 20–24 km/h in the mountainsLevel: 3+ W/kg FTPApprox. 600 km with 9,000 metres of climbingWhichever group you choose, you’ll enjoy the same fantastic roads, Girona’s unique atmosphere and the camaraderie that makes Bike Camp Spain special.What matters most is that everyone enjoys a great day on the bike, rather than chasing an average speed.How do I find my FTP?You can estimate your FTP with a 20-minute test on a bike fitted with a power meter, or an indoor bike that measures power.Ride as hard as you can sustain for 20 minutes. Multiply your average power by 0.95 to estimate your FTP, then divide by your weight in kilograms to calculate W/kg.👉 Example: If you average 200 watts for 20 minutes and weigh 80 kg, your estimated FTP is 200 watts, or approximately 2.5 W/kg.Want to learn more? Flights & airport transfersThe airport you will be flying to is Barcelona El Prat or the small Girona Coata Brava airport 10km from Girona center. From Barcelona El Prat airport there are trains from T2 (terminal 2) to Barcelona main train station, Barcelona Sants. From there you can take the fast train which takes 38 minutes or the "slow" one which has several stops along the way.Otherwise, it is possible to take a taxi. Shortly before the start of the camp, we coordinate with the participants what is the optimal solution. We have a taxi company we work with and we can arrange for participants to share a taxi that is ready when you come out of the arrivals hall.Arrival & DepartureThe camp runs for 7 days, from Friday to Friday.If you would like to join the introductory ride on the day of arrival, we recommend choosing a flight that lands in Barcelona no later than around 12:00 PM. ✈️ Airport TransferFrom Terminal 2 (T2), you can take a train to Barcelona Sants, the city's main railway station. From there, you can continue to Girona by either the high-speed train (approximately 38 minutes) or a regional train with several stops along the way.We provide a step-by-step guide to help you travel by train.Alternatively, you can take a taxi. Weekly itinerary Arrival: FridayWe set off from the hotel at around 17:00.If you’d like to join the arrival day ride, we recommend an early flight arriving in Barcelona by around 12:00.​Friday: 30 km / 350 m ⛰️Saturday: 110 km / 1,750 m ⛰️Sunday: 120 km / 1,950 m ⛰️Monday: Rest day – 45 km / 400 m ⛰️Tuesday: 120 km / 1,900 m ⛰️Wednesday: 70 km / 1,450 m ⛰️Thursday: 120 km / 1,350 m ⛰️ Total: 615 km / 9,150 metres of climbing Departure: Friday There is no scheduled ride on departure day.Riding groups are organised according to ability and the total number of participants. Groups typically consist of 6–10 riders. Depending on the mix of abilities, we run one, two or up to three groups. On some days, certain groups follow a slightly shorter route than the one listed. All distances and elevation figures are approximate, and the itinerary may be adjusted to suit the weather.
